Connection Through Movement

Incorporating attachment theory, trauma theory, and yoga philosophy, these video sessions are a unique way to discover your own body in an intentional manner. Designed to be done with a partner or alone, they are intended to help guide you to a deeper relationship with yourself or your loved one.

You and your partner will be given multiple opportunities to check in with your own body and to co-regulate your nervous systems. Believe it or not, by witnessing someone else regulate their nervous system, it helps us regulate our own. Our nervous system is constantly looking for someone to regulate with. These videos are full of nervous system cues and can be done again and again. If you are true to yourself and your own body (which takes time to cultivate) you may have extremely different experiences each time you follow the videos.

What Do We Mean by ‘Movement’?

The activity done in movement sessions can be as subtle as breath work or as active as a lunge or balancing form (yoga position). Suggested movements are based on yoga and somatic work, but the movements you do ultimately depend on what you think is best for you in that moment.

The purpose for this movement is to tap into your nervous system and update it from the programming it received when it was formed (when you were a child) to new programming (as an adult) that allows you to better connect with yourself.

Enjoy these benefits and more:

  • Calming, trauma-sensitive sessions

  • New ways to connect with yourself or a partner

  • Techniques you can use anywhere

  • Unlimited access so you can watch as many times as you like

Meet Your Facilitator

Bree Hibbs-Kenny, RYT, TCTSY-F

Bree has been passionate about embodiment – helping people connect with and be inside their own body – throughout her career, but when she learned about the ability to teach yoga to trauma survivors, she knew that was her calling.

Bree was first introduced to yoga 20 years ago. She enjoyed yoga and expanded her knowledge by taking various classes. But it wasn’t until she suffered an ischemic stroke in 2013 and her world was turned upside down that she realized how transformative yoga could be. She practiced yoga during her recovery because she hoped that a ‘bottom up’ approach of taking care of her body first would help the other areas of her life.

Not only did her yoga practice help her recover from the stroke and accompanying depression, it ignited her desire to study trauma and movement. Through the yogic experience, Bree uncovered that her physical body has a direct connection with her nervous system and psychological well-being. Now her primary focus is helping people with embodiment and empowerment through movement sessions.

Bree received her 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) certification in 2018. Shortly afterwards she trained with The Center for Trauma and Embodiment at Justice Resource Institute (JRI) and has completed her Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator (TCTSY-F) certification in 2021. She completed the Mama Tree Prenatal Yoga Training by Jane Austin and received her Somatic Attachment Therapy certificate from Embody Lab and is currently studying BodyMind Centering.
