Holistic

We believe in treating you as a whole person, not just your symptoms. Many factors affect your health and well-being. Nutrition, mental and emotional states, and physical activity all contribute to your healing and recovery. We incorporate natural remedies and alternative suggestions for overall health optimization.

Preventative

We believe in not just fixing problems as they arise, but helping you prevent them in the first place. We take pride in educating our patients on more than just the immediate issues affecting them.

Inclusive

We’re a sex-positive practice that supports all races, ethnicities, faiths, marital status, intellectual or physical ability, neuro-differences, gender expression, or sexual orientation. It’s important that you feel comfortable sharing very personal details about your life that may affect your pelvic health.

Collaborative

We believe that healthcare is best done with a team approach. And the most important part of that team is you! We look for your input when setting goals and frequency of visits. Our care is always consent based and trauma-informed. We actively work with other providers involved in your care and are happy to refer you to practitioners who may be of help to you.

PELVIC FLOOR PHYSICAL THERAPY

Amanda Shipley, PT, DPT, MTC

Amanda’s mission is to change the standard of care so that pelvic physical therapy is a part of a complete wellness strategy that incorporates preventative care, like going to the dentist. Amanda believes in a holistic approach and focuses on treating you as a whole person and not just your symptoms. Besides extensive manual therapy techniques and individualized exercise prescription, she fosters wellness by encouraging good nutrition, stress management, and patient education as an integral part of empowering all of her patients. She is passionate about preventing pelvic floor issues and supporting her patients through the life transitions that we know affect the pelvic floor so strongly - pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause/menopause, and before/after surgery. After having two unmedicated homebirths, Amanda is especially passionate about helping birthing people have as smooth a childbirth as possible. In addition to working with her 1:1, you can learn from Amanda through her online courses or podcast.
